“Even from the country of death, ……”〔3/5〕 東京電力・福島第1原発事故(第222信)

すでに「取り返しのつかぬ今」を
もはや「取り返しのつかぬまま」見据えながら、
それでもなお、あの愚者たちに殺されないために……

“Even from the country of death,
Is there still ‘hope’ of which we can speak? ――24 fragments and 1 prologue”〔3/5〕

               13

I will never forgive Einstein or Curie. I will never recognize the "peace" and “humanity" preached by those who committed these irreparable errors.
If not for them, there would have been no Hiroshima, Nagasaki, or Bikini Islands. If, in the beginning, they were not able to foresee today's disastrous scene, that shows a lack of the scientist’s decisive nature. And an “intellectual quest” does not equal the indulgence of nuclear violence.
In fact those scientists’ ambition and desire for power are damaging the thyroid glands of children now forced to live in Fukushima.

               14

Who was it who asked if they could please make electricity with atomic energy? And when?

               15

 Please help.
We are imprisoned in a hopeless radioactive gas chamber archipelago at the hands of the Japanese Government, TEPCO, the mass media and their sycophantic scholars.
We are now nothing but hopeless fools who know not even that we ourselves have already been murdered.

               16

Now it is blasphemy to speak of "hope"—as measured against the actual terrible suffering people are enduring.
Individuals are not the human race as a species; individuals live but one life, and then must die. A person is not born as a lesson to others or as an example to fear.

               17

But is there still "hope" we can talk about?
If so, by whom, for whom, is this “hope”?

               18

Now I must summon all my strength and fight.
As a writer, and as a human being, too.

                      〔To be continued〕
